MISS JO IS ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT THE NEW SAN FRANCISCO-BASED FREE FRUIT MOVEMENT, which directs people anywhere in the world to where they can pick fruit on public property. Private property owners can also sign up to have their plums, peaches, cherries, citrus, or whatever, harvested by free labor. Neighborhood Fruit is the brilliant effort of Kaytea Petro and Oriana Sarac, both with MBAs in sustainability from San Francisco’s Presidio School of Management who wanted to do something about all the fresh fruit they’d see in the Bay Area and elsewhere going to waste.
Miss Jo hopes to do some free-fruit picking soon and will report back.

Wow! Is that your garden with a lemon tree??? Wish I’d learned more from you about growing things. Am having a frustrating season in NE. Ready to throw in the trowel : ^ )
