BEFORE THIS WEEK’S CHILLY WINTER RAINS ARRIVED, MISS JO SWUNG BY MS. TERIOSA’S, the 24th Street @ Harrison fortune teller in the Mission and one of the new city-sponsored Art-in-Store-Fronts installations.
The south-of-Market seer obviously knows what she’s talking about, according to responses she posted in the window to questions left by passersby, which also hint at Ms. Teriosa’s character.
Evidence of her super powers:
Q: Why doesn’t Costco carry ginger beer ?
A: Ms. Teriosa will take care of that.
Her no-nonsense side:
Q: If and when I open my own spot, where will it be ?
A: You should consult with your doctor before opening the spot. Thank you for visiting Ms. Teriosa
Her love of underdogs:
Q: When will the Chicago Cubs win the World Series ?
A: There is a chance they will succeed in this endeavor, however they will have to beat the Giant of SF in Two Thousand Twenty.
A perpetual romantic:
Q: Will I find love again ? Is there love after 50 ? Hmmm 55 ? Hmmm 57 ?
A: Ms. Teriosa met her greatest lovers when she turned sixty years old. You are beautiful and have great surprises coming to you.
For want of a pen, Miss Jo couldn’t leave a question, but will be back before Ms. Teriosa— created by SF artists Kelly Ording and Jet Martinez– moves on after January.
