MISS JO USUALLY CUTS THROUGH GLEN CANYON TO REACH the Safeway in Diamond Heights, but after this morning’s rain she avoided a muddy hike and headed up Diamond Heights Road from Glen Park.
As the winter solstice sun was setting on the shortest day of the year, the view below of downtown and beyond turned dreamy as clouds rolled over the Transamerica Pyramid, Bay Bridge, Giants’ Stadium, the Bay and Oakland Hills. The sight could have come from the miniature San Francisco model train exhibit at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park.
The solstice view reminded Miss Jo
of an earlier snap taken from a plane of the City, showing how it’s clustered at the top of a peninsula and jutting into the San Francisco Bay and Pacific Ocean.

Lovely Solstice sky! You should publish sky shots like this on Friday, and link to SkyWatch Friday. Then you’ll be able to see Superior Sky Snaps from around the world.
