SPENDING THE MORNING NEAR FREMONT IN THE LOWER EAST BAY was all Miss Jo needed to be reminded of the incredibly hot California summers away from the coast.
Since it’s just the start of the six-month dry/fire season, it was sobering to see the nearby Sierra Nevada foothills already a crisp golden.
Heading home, across the San Francisco Bay on the San Mateo Bridge and north on I-280, Miss Jo couldn’t wait to be cooled by the fog.
Sure enough, near the southern edge of SF, a refreshing whoosh of afternoon Pacific wind laden with chilly moisture-filled billows blew through the car, instantly shaving 20 degrees off the temps.
The next day, Miss Jo snapped the fog as it tucked the Transamerica Pyramid, Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower in for the night.
